His Life
January 18, 2014

Mr. Vaughn was born in Middlesborough, Kentucky on July 9, 1943, the son of the late Millie Ann Tolliver Vaughn and Sylas Vaughn. He was a retired Boiler Maker who worked primarily with the General Electric Corporation. He served his country in the United States Marines in the Vietnam Conflict. After retiring he became co-owner of the Store to Door Italian Restaurant in Franklin, Georgia. His regular visits in the evening to eat and visit with customers made him well acquainted with the people of the community. However it was his dry wit that made him a favorite of the people. He was very proud of his association with the Turin Masonic Lodge. He was an avid deer hunter, who also loved riding his Harley. He was a champion Western Pleasure Horseman who actually made it to the World Championship in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. “Mr. Jim” was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be remembered for his spunk and friendliness to all.

He is survived by his wife Lisa Marie Hutchison Vaughn of Franklin, GA.; one daughter, Dawn Frank (Shawn) of Monroe, MI; two sons, Jim Vaughn (Ashley), and Tony Tomkinson (Amber) also of Monroe, MI.; and five grandchildren.

Other than his parents, he was preceded by one son, Scott Vaughn.
