Jane was my cousin but also my friend and mentor. I believe she was the first to make a list of MacRae family members with their contact info, which was quite a project. She was one of the cousins who started the fall & spring lunches and helped me develop an interest in family. I loved hearing her stories about grandparents, uncles and aunts. Her love for Jesus helped me grow in my faith as I watched her deal with challenges in her own life. She was a very special person and I miss her but have many wonderful memories of our time together. Now I admire her children and grandchildren as they carry on her legacy.

You are no longer with us but, I want you to know how extremely proud of you we are.  I talk to you mom, because I know you can hear me. Growing up in your home was like a fairy tale.  One story I remember is how you prayed for me to be born.  You repeatedly told me the story of how you could not get pregnant for years and years after you got married. How you prayed and promised God that you would dedicate me to Him if only you could get pregnant.  You explained this is why I was named David from the Bible.  Fast forward to our last conversation before you passed.  You asked me the most surprising and profound question and a question I had never considered.  You said, "David, what is the earliest memory of yourself?"  In the middle of my surprise over this question, I instantly knew the answer, and began to sing this song to you.  "Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so, Little ones to Him belong, they are weak but He is strong. Yes Jesus loves me, Yes Jesus loves me, Yes Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so."  With tears streaming down my face, I kissed you good bye.  See you soon mom.  Love you forever ~ Your forever son David.

One of my first  memories of Jane, was as a 15 yr.old.(Dating David) I was keeping stats for our high school lacross team that Dave played on. As the game ended and Jane was driving us back to her home, Dave told her that I got my permit earlier that day. So she pulled the White Impala over when we got to Island Road, and told me to drive the rest of the way home!! I was scared to death... and trying to impress my boyfriend and his mom. I pulled into the driveway grabbed the directional to put it in park...not realizing the shifter was on the console. Once we all got out.. everyone was laughing as I say "Oh man its parked crooked!"
  Thats the first of so so many great memories with this precious, smart, and funny lady I have the privlage to call my Mother-In-Law. Grandma (Golden Gram) to our 4 children, and Great Grandma Jane to our 2 gandkids.
  Most important though, My Friend since the young age of 15. She holds a special place in my heart. Oh I aslo thank her for giving me my boyfriend.
      I miss her a whole bunch!!
