I have just learned with sadness the passing on of Mrs Dodman . Mrs Dodman was my teacher at St Georges Primary school in the early years (between std 1 and std 3) and later at Lenana School when Reverend Dodman took over as chaplin.We visited their home in the school compound for bible study where in addition to good teachings we would enjoy her baking . However belatedly My heartfelt condolences to Rev Dodman and the family - your lives have been the greatest sermon I have had the privilege of witnessing. .

Fondly remembered. "The memory of the righteous is a blessing."

Thank you for the warm music cookies chocolates and Sunday school classes taught i will live to remember all this. you made my life better in my sunday school times with Music and the buffe plasticine models and wonderful Juice. Thank you you were more than a gift to me.

Jean poured out her life for others. She lived out John 12:24 and Luke 9:23 by generously giving herself tirelessly to love and serve those around her. By this she birthed many spiritual children thereby becoming many. May the fruit of her life multiply unto eternity. May we meet again in Jesus' presence.

The sweet fragrance of your home on a Tuesday baking day, has been forever etched in my memory. Your warmth and hospitality was such a blessing to us as we grew up. Rest with the angels dear Mrs dodman

Rev. Dodman and your dear family, receive our heartfelt condolences on the resting of Mrs. D.
My fond memories are of Mrs. D playing piano in our Sunday school hall and also in church during the evening service on Sundays that children were allowed to attend. I am also a beneficiary of her keen attention to our Sunday school class lessons. I am grateful too for the many cookery lessons she had with my mum, Mrs. Eunice van Doorne, we of course had nice cakes to celebrate the lessons mum learned from Mrs. D's kitchen.
We celebrate because we are a people with a future and a hope, we know we shall meet on the other shore if we keep running the race The Lord has laid out for us.
The Lord bless you and keep you, may He make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you. Amen.

Your many kindnesses will not be forgotten, demonstrated in so many countless ways! Till we meet again, Mrs Dodman.

last time we saw them, she and Rev Dodman, lived on the grounds of Lenana School. They were the most generous people we had ever met. Mrs Dodman's baking was out of this world. I have wondered over the years what became of them.
Thessalonians 4:13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 1 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus

We remember how much she loved to receive visitor into her home. Also we miss her for her love for music particularly piano. Blessed are they who die in the Lord. Naphtally & Helida Ogallo.

Rev. Dodman and family... 'He (God) who began the good work in Jean will bring it to completion until the day of Christ Jesus our Lord.' Philippians 1:6. It was a blessing knowing Jean...thank you for your gift of hospitality and for hosting us several times...as the youth of the Nairobi Baptist Church in the 80s and 90s. Fred Nyabera

A treasured memory of a spiritual grandma (Susu/Cucu) who loved us deeply and sincerely. She prayed for us, taught us, couselled us, laughed with us, cooked for us, encouraged us and blessed us immensely. Her memory will always be precious and will always be a blessing. She lived well and she loved well. A precious gift from our gracious God and Father.

Thank you for the warmth, laughter, love, sacrifice and cookies you provided to us in high school and college years. You warmed our hearts as you took us for bible study, taught me how to play the guitar and proved that God's love for us is real, shining through you to us for decades and decades. We miss you and thank you for the living legacy you have left in our hearts forever. We love you and will love you eternally as we meet at Jesus' feet!

Dear Rev Dodman and Family,

We received the sad news of the passing away of our Dear Jean.
She taught our family how to make green ice-cream which essentially was avocadoes and either bananas or pineapples. We still make Jean’s “green ice-cream.”

Christine and Otim and their children were our immediate neighbours at the Manse compound for a few years; so you as a family came to visit often. Stephen and his Dear wife were briefly together with me as students at London Bible College (1974).

You and Jean assumed "full-time" Pastoral duties at NBC when Emmy and I went to Wheaton College on study leave for two years, 1990-1992, occupying my office at the Old Office block. We remain most thankful for you.

So we as a family share a 40-year history with the Dodman family as many others in Kenya share even more deeply than my family ever did with you.

One thing I will never forget was you once sharing at a visit with your family that as at that point in history, you did not have a bank account. Your salary went into hospitality after paying the bills! 

We therefore celebrate the life of Jean Dodman with deep gratitude to God, one part of GIANTS of a couple in Christ Jesus.
