Jeff brought my family great happiness. We were lucky to get a puppy from his Chesapeake Bay Retriever litter that was born on March 3, 2008. Jeff listed her name as Dukie Bear, but we named her Belle. She had a great personality. She was good natured, very social, enjoyed being with people and other animals, and was very smart. Belle passed away two days ago, and I was checking if Jeff still bred Chessies when I saw this memorial. Thank you Jeff for all the happiness.

I worked for Jeff at Pine Hills for most of my college career at Albany State. Jeff was a great guy - crazy and full of energy, with a huge heart! I remember pulling him out of the mud with my POS red pickup at times, (he always hated that, and i ribbed him incessantly about it!) when he would get half schnockered and go "4-wheeling" in his subaru! The same subaru the Albany Police gave Shannon (Gus) a hard time about because of the brush guard on the front! Jeff always worked hard and no matter what came his way, he always landed on his feet - kind of an indominable Spirit. I'm not sure what happened - 53 seems way too young - if someone could enlighten me, please send an email. We lost touch after my first marriage, so I haven't had contact with Jeff for over 20 years. Wow - how time flies. My wife was in Albany and I told her to go by the old Pine Hills - it's still a pizza place, still the same ovens, just no Jeff. That prompted me to do some looking and I found this tribiute. Wish I had seen it sooner.  I'm grateful I had the chance to know you, Jeffrey, and I'm sure Dan, Gisselle, my ex - Lori, and all the rest of the folks you helped pay their way in college by employing us, feel the same. Rest in the arms of Jesus.

Jeff Purdy, more like a brother than an uncle. Jeff was always good to me as far back as I can remember. I think at about the age 13 or 14 I started spending my summers with Jeff when he opened up his first Pizza shop (Westmere pizza). I remember I stayed with him in his apartment next door to the pizza shop, under a liquor store and with his friend Jim Lawson. That was the first of many summers until I graduated in 1985 and moved to Albany to help him run Pine Hills Pizza.

Many good times with my big brother Jeff. I remember many times puking my guts out from drinking too much and I think Jim held onto my shirt as I puked out the door on halloween one year.

I learned a lot from Jeff (not just the party side) as far as seeing him run a business and then opening more locations. I think seeing Jeff being self-employed gave me the inspiration to be self-employed myself.

I miss Jeff terribly and remember so many good times all the way from Westmere Pizza to Vail CO.

I Miss YOU uncle Jeff, Thank you for being so great to me and for giving me the inspiration for my current success! I hope you are snowboarding the clouds in Heaven while smoking a big fat duby...

I love you Uncle Jeff, I will see you again someday but for now RIP.

-Your Nephew Shanon

Ah Jeffrey, a breed apart. We had some truly great times, beginning in about 1967 and continuing for well over three decades. Not that we didn't have our spats. lol Spent many a night at the Camelot room with Jeff, road trips here and there; but never a dull moment. RIP my friend and regards to Chris Peter and Ronnie. I have to admit we did put your Mom through a few trying times. Best to all. Fred:)

Many times I have heard that a persons animals tend to reflect the nature of their owner. If this be the case then as the foster of these two great dogs, I can attest that Jeff truly took care of his pets! They are gentle obedient and trained, They have been through so much yet are still very calm and relaxed. They are being well cared for by CBRR&R. Pictures are on my Face Book page

If anyone wants to make a contribution in Jeffrey's name you can make it to the Chesapeake Bay Retriever Relief and Rescue in Colorado.
It is CBRRESCUE.ORG. It is a non-profit that supports the beautiful Retrievers he loved so much.

It is so hard to know what to say. Even though we have been separated by miles for so long I still feel the saddness of Jeff's passing. It is always so very sad when someone so young dies. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Love to you all, the Tuttle family.
