Dear Joan, you have been my most constant friend since our teens when we sat in a neighborhood cafe drinking tea, smoking cigarettes and solving the world’s problems. Whenever we talked by phone (even if months had passed) it was as if we had shared thoughts a few days earlier. I have known and loved Joan, and my dear friend Erin, almost my whole life - for over 50 years! What a dear, creative, beautiful person Joan is. I remember her dancing, and the amazing trunk of costumes in the basement! She was a second mom to me when I was in elementary school. I think of you all often.  sending all my love, your old friend,
