Joan called Southfield Wellness Community (Webster City, IA) home for the last seven and a half years. Southfield staff gave her the best of care and became Joanie’s adopted family, for which her biological family will be forever grateful. Many, many thanks to them. Also, thank you to Kindred Hospice for making Joan’s last days as comfortable as possible.
Joan’s children and grandchildren had a small, private celebration of life gathering, and the cremation will take place shortly. Timothy Pingel will receive and care for his mother’s ashes. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributions are made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation (http://support.pdf.org/) or the Epilepsy Foundation (www.epilepsy.org).
