Lots of people come and go, some even leave footprints but OMG, JB left us all missing a really good friend! Can't think about him without smiling and hearing his voice saying all those dumb remarks he used to make. Don't know another soul like him and probably never will...  How lucky we were to share so many fun memories! Joe & Sharon

Spending one hilarious evening with Joe Bob, will always be remembered. What a fun night we had at Rich and Jeannie's, he was nothing short of pure entertainment. I laughed so hard and long, I cried, not sure I have ever met anyone so funny! Paul and I were hoping for many more visits ahead...so sad, he is missed by so many.

Every day we would all go out to Buck Island for the afternoon. I remember the day the handle broke off his 'biggest to-go-cup! just before we were leaving for Buck Island! Such a catastrophe!! We all laughed out loud and kidded about the 'damn handle'. He took the cup, filled it, and said 'Let's go!" We all had a good laugh and the jokes about the cup lasted all day!
JB: Thanks for the smiles.

He was a funnyman, a friend, a confidant, a joker, an old soul who brought out our best nature. When I broke my ankle and was in bed for a few months, he would call out of the blue, tell me the same old duck joke, then hang up. He left me laughing ,cheered up and thankful for such a dear friend. What better way to be remembered than "He left them laughing"! Ya reckon?

Joe Bob will always be remembered by us as a kind fun loving guy with a great dog too. He made us laugh and was always smiling. We only got to see him a few times, the week in St Croix and the short visit last May when we were on Palm Island, but both times were memorable. Joe Bob, you left us to soon.

Joe Bob came into my life when I was two or so and married my mother shortly thereafter. Their marriage did not last our close relationship with him did. I could never share all of my memories, but I will share a few in the coming days. I loved him very much and my heart breaks that I won't see him in the flesh again. He was one in a million.

Oh so many memories! All happy and will always make us smile (even thru my tears). Cannot believe he is gone, keep thinking he's gonna pop up with "gotcha." I can still hear him saying, "I can't recall." I honestly don't know a happier soul than Joe Bob. I sometimes wish we could all be as carefree and have half as much fun. What a guy, what a character, what an amazing friend!

JoeBob was not only my brother, he was special. The music playing here "Gone Too Soon" is exactly the way I feel. I am still having trouble believing he's gone. He had so many friends that he loved...especially Jeanne and Rich. He can now see Blue Bob again and,one of these days, Red Bob.

We had so many good times growing up that I will never forget. I loved him so much. Rest in peace JoeBob

The thing about Joe Bob was that although his personality was "bigger than life" and he could always make you laugh he was honestly a good person with a good heart. A real good soul.

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch. We never understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we had time to say goodbye. Although gone never forgotten and your life gave us memories too wonderful to forget.

I smile when I think of Joe Bob, I shed tears because I will forever miss him. He touched everyone he met by making us laugh, smile and just appreciate each day. The last time I had the pleasure of his company was in my restaurant (in Illinois) and he shared his displeasure of wearing shoes and long pants! We laughed together! I thank God I had the opportunity to know Joe Bob.

Last time I saw Joe Bob was in vegas over the summer. He always had a way to make me laugh and smile and I will miss him so much. We all went out to dinner and I had the pleasure of sitting next to him and his comment was "Woohoo you get a hot date for the night Ashlee!" I believe there is even a picture.

a movie

March 31, 2012

I wish I could pick a story to leave. Our story is one big movie. The friendship, love and respect we all had for one another. That alone is an amazing story. As Father Render said, you don't find that at our age, but after reading the posts, JB had the ability to do just that. He loved life and his friends. (not so much his family). He treated them with respect and left them smiling.

I only wish I had written everything down as it happened. He gave us the best years of our life in the later years. We went through the loss of friends, family a major life changing move together. We saw money come and go, We out lasted a huricane and a night time ocean boat wreck, Having to be rescued. Of course he kept his cool, smoked a cigerette and drank a beer while keeping the rest of us calm. He fought the bad guys for us and won.

There was no laughter when I found him. There hasn't been much laughter since. OUr hears will never be the same. You see, Joe Bob came into our life right after losing my brother. I really thought Tom sent him to us, they were way to much alike. Then God called him home. I guess Tom needed a friend up there that had shared out life here. So everyone would be on the same page.

Thanks for the memories my friend.
