Our father, husband, son, brother, and uncle Mr. Joseph Sang Kum was born on January 31st, 1961 in Mankon, Bamenda in the country of Cameroon. He came from a Baptist religion background. He was the son of Late Bah Andreas Kum and Mbet Sussana Bah-Kum. Mr. Joseph was the 2nd of 15 children. He was married to Scholastica Muluh-Kum .

          He started school at Presbyterian School [PS] Wum and completed his primary school education at Government school Fofuka, Bum. After completing primary school he continued his education at Kom Baptist Technical College [KBTC]. He went to Government Technical High School [GTHS] in Kumba,Cameroon where he obtained the City and Guilds of London Institute Certificates & Certificate de Probation. He taught in Nacho & Longla comprehensive colleges Bamenda in 1982-1984.

          My father continued his education in the college of Science and Technology at Kaduna [Kaduna Polytechnic Nigeria] in 1984-1989 where he graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering. When he came back to Cameroon, he had a brief sting with business supplying pipes, bitumen, and etc. Since he had a strong desire for education, he continued his education in Wageningen Agricultural University and the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies in the Netherlands where he graduated with a Master of Science in Urban Environmental Management.

          He came to the USA in 1997 equipped with all this knowledge he was employed in Prince Georges County Government, Department of Public Works and Transportation as a construction standard inspector III in 1999 til present. He left behind his daughter, wife, mother, brother, sister,and friends to mourn him.
