Born on March 24, 1956 in Oelwein, Iowa, United States
Passed away on March 20, 2007 in Carroll, Iowa, United States
This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, John Mueller, 50 years old, born on March 24, 1956, and passed away on March 20, 2007. We will remember him forever.
I knew John at Iowa State University back in the day - in fact we were roommates in Franklin House for a couple of years. John was always such a fun-loving guy. He made my time at ISU so enjoyable.
John loved music. My favorite prank was waiting until he had on his headphones, singing his heart out, and I would cut the external speakers.. The rest of us in the room would continue to act like we were singing and John would continue to sing as loud as he could, at the top of his voice, thinking he was just part of the chorus.
But he never was in the chorus - John always loved the limelight. I remember a Halloween party where we borrowed costumes from the theater department. John painted his entire face and neck, adorned it with glitter as well, only to find out it was the wrong type of paint. It took him f-o-r-e-v-e-r to get that paint off.
When your dad started laughing, it would take him a long time to compose himself. For weeks, he loved filling BIG waste paper baskets full of water (with my help of course!) and leaning them against the doors of our roommates - you could hear loudly the anguished screams of the students as they opened their doors the next morning.
John was one of the most remarkable individuals I've ever met. Ironically, I learned about John's death just a few years ago while at an ISU footballl game. The guy next to me was from Oelwein - and of course I had to ask him about the big jock named John Mueller. I was devastated to learn of his passing.
I'm glad that I found this site so I could pass on a few thoughts about my friend.
Heaven is a better place for having John there. All my love, Kent Peterson
