John and Viki were our next door neighbors from 1999 until 2002 on Alabama Street. John was very friendly and welcomed us to the neighborhood. John and his family had a two year old yellow lab puppy named Nellie. She always came to visit us. My daughter Michelle asked me if we could adopt Nellie. John and Viki needed to find a home for her. What better home could she have than to live next door. We adopted Nellie. She was a handful, ate drywall, comforters, etc. Nellie woud climb the fence to go visit John. They had a pool and she loved to swim. I could hear Nellie jumping into their pool. She literally got on the platform of their above the ground pool and jumped in just like a kid. When we moved John told me that he needed visitation rights with Nellie. I told him no problem! I am blessed to have known John and the gift that I received of Nellie, my yellow lab. She lived to be 16 years old. I will forever be thankful for John. He was one of the kindest, sweetest, men I have ever known. He always had a smile on his face. You will be missed very much John. R.I.P. I know Nellie ran to greet you in Heaven.
