My dad

August 30, 2018

my earliest memory of my dad was playing A-team with me when we lived at Kelly street, he'd be Hannibal and I'd be Mr T as I could put all my necklaces on.

I remember moving down to Burton on trent and me and dad and Cheeky slept on the floor in our new house with a black and white tv on a bottle crate till our furniture arrived.

my next memory that sticks in my head is the morning my dad woke me to tell me mum had been rushed to hospital. 1st time I saw my big Marine dad cry.

My dad only cried 2 times in front of me the morning my mum took ill and the moment my girl Star passed. I never gave my dad a gran child instead he had gran pups and he treated them just as his gran children. He loved his Rotties Star, Nina and Roo who he didn't want me to have but fell in love with him once he met him.He liked Mika even though she's isn't a rottie.

The last memory of my dad was me saying to him I'd got him green pyjamas and  i  was having them printed with royal marine commando veteran on the pocket. I wanted the nurses to know he wasn't just a father and a husband he was a royal marine commando veteran. I didn't have chance to get them as he passed the following morning at 4am. when I'd been and seen him and we were leaving the room I kissed him goodbye and saluted him and said " At ease solider, you did us proud."

I will always be proud of my dad he taught me to be strong and independent and most of all my heritage. in April I'm glad I had my tattoo done for him and he got to see it. He was proud of my tattoo.

love and miss you always dad.x
