Thank you for the courage, for the bravery. Thank you for the unselfish act just to protect our country. I want to say that I'm proud to be Filipino but I just can't. Filipinos killing Filipinos is not something to be proud of. Right now, I joined the million of Filipinos in prayers that sooner or later, justice will be serve and that the conflict in Mindanao will end. We don't want another Erana who will sacrificed his life just to attain peace. We already had enough!

To the bereaved family, my sincere and deepest condolences. Your son died a meaningful death and not all people are given the chance to die for their country. You're son is a hero and thank you for giving him to us.

Dear Captain John Garry Erana, yours and your comrades bravery will always be remembered. Until now, the news about the Fallen 44 strikes me at my core, brings me to tears, and keeps my mind wondering why peace can be so elusive; why lives such as that of Capt. Erana and the rest of the Fallen 44 need to be wasted. I dearly hope that the promise of justice will be fulfilled soon. To Ms. Suzette Tucay, my prayers that the Lord will give you strength to accept the death of your loved one. Why in such way? - We may not know the life lived by you or your other fallen comrades but what you did, what you suffer in that battlefield is more than enough for us to feel the anguish from your passing. This is to let you and your family know that many of us, your fellow Filipinos mourn for you and felt proud of your gallantry. Many questions are still left unanswered but our loving Lord, for sure, would not let these questions be just that.
