John Being John

April 3, 2022
The story goes this way. On our way to Niagara Falls ( Canada Side ) Buster and John in the front seat and Joanne and I in the back. Being told the whole time to stop what we were doing to look at the trees..Really? of course we did not..Getting to a beautiful room and being hungry but in John fashion every where we went it was not to his liking..Finally choosing one that he chose we ate..Oh and please, toast is supposed to be toasted..lol We did have a great time, and so many more..We were friends ( most of the time ) I loved his sweet ways ( yes he had them ) and his cranky ways ( he did have those too )  Through it all he was a friend..
But the saying I remember the most..OH JOANNE !!

Grand pop

You were my Valentine this year, you had 2 beautiful great grand kids Charlie who you named Chuck which fits her beautifully, and Krew who you never got to meet physically but I know you loved him the same. You took me on my first boat! I am happy to have had whatever time we had on this earth together! You were funny and loving and I will forever miss my grandfather and friend.
I love you old man
forever and ever

Life with John

April 2, 2022
36 years of marriage, and a few prior is half a lifetime. Like most married couples we had experienced the good and the bad. We loved a good debate, and there was no topic that escaped us.. we were political, analytical but rarely agreed.. he was right and I was left, him from North Philly, me from South Philly. Two different eras, two very different people. The greaser and the hippie.  Go figure. We could always come together in the kitchen and for an impromptu slow dance. We loved each other deeply.
One of our best memories was our road trip out west with our son  from our house in Chester ending in the Grand Canyon which he planned and executed near perfection . Eating in a Mexican restaurant in New Mexico while a strolling troubadour strummed the guitar and sang,, John requested LA Bamba....city boy out of his element. We all laughed.. The second was our cruise on the QE2 from the UK to the Canary Islands and Morocco. It was a somewhat formal cruise and I can still see him in his tux having some of the best meals we've ever eaten, seeing things that amazed us,  buying more Madiera wine than we could drink, playing shuffleboard with the Brits. Those are just a few of the memories I choose to visit. Nice that we ended as friends, because we were always that to each other.
