His Life

You Were My Father (Poem)

March 24
"You Were My Father”

You were my father

From beginning to the end

You raised me well

From day one you took me in

You sacrificed your life so young

I’m so glad you did for what would we have done

We definitely had hard times and life was tough

But, God brought us through for His love was always enough

Now you left us here and went to heaven to be with the Lord

So you spread your wings to God’s heavenly throne you soared

What am I going to do when I can’t see your face

But, know that I loved you and I know you are in God’s saving grace

One day we will see you again

When the trumpet sounds and Christ comes back again

So abide in God’s love and God’s safe keeping

Don’t worry about us here

Shine bright, rest well for life is ever fleeting.
