The Events of his life ...

February 28, 2014

John Wesley Frowner,  was  born on July 26, 1943 in Los Angeles, CA. John was the second oldest child born to Lemuel and Mattie (Cates) Frowner.

John accepted Christ at an early age. As he was born into a fruitful evangelistic family. His mother Mattie, traveled with her mother  and siblings across the United States, singing and preaching the gospel. They were known as “The Eleven Wonders”, and were privileged to perform at the White House for President Herbert Hoover.

John  was a direct recipient of the anointed healing hands of his grandmother, Eunice. As John was born with Polio from a child, and had never walked until the day his grandmother laid hands upon him, and commanded him to “walk”  in the mighty name of Jesus!

John was educated in the Los Angeles Unified Schools system. He graduated from Fremont High School in 1961, and attended both Los Angeles Trade Technical College and Los Angeles Community College. The manifestation of his healing from polio came with many signs following, as he was the Co-Captain of his High School gymnastics team, and a world class competitor! John was offered a place on the U.S.A. Olympic team, in addition to a full-ride scholarship at the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles. John turned both offers down to explore life as a family man.

In 1963, he married June Smith, and two children; Doreen Denise and Kenneth Jerome, were born to this union. In 1970, John married Diana Lee, there were no children born during the union. In 1995, John’s long-time companion, Rachel Wilson preceded him in death.

John worked for the City of Los Angeles LAPD where he was in charge of the Materials Management Services Division. He retired after more than 30 years of service, and enjoyed offering his caregiving services to others until he unexpectedly passed away on February 11, 2014.

Thanking God for the celebration of his life, but mourning his departure are: his daughter, Doreen Johnson, and son, Kenneth Frowner of Las Vegas, NV; his brother, Lemuel Frowner (Laura)  of El Paso, TX; a brother, David Frowner of Long Beach, CA; a sister, Joyce Robinson of Diamond Bar, CA.
