His favorites

April 20, 2022
Some of his favorite movies were Inception, it was one to make you think which was the kind he liked. I think because he was so intelligent that most movies were too easy to figure out. He loved the Matrix movies, tommy boy, dumb and dumber, battle L.A., office space, Limitless, how the grinch stole Christmas, the Christmas Carol, the perfect world.

his favorite cartoon movie was cloudy with a chance of meatballs. I always attributed this to him being such a big foody.

His favorite shows to watch while he tried to fall asleep were Columbo, Monk, Doctor who, and all kinds of documentaries.

I miss watching movies with him, even if he did get bored and start playing with his phone.

Glow sticks

April 19, 2022
I remember one time, when we were dating, and he lived in the house in waunta, he started a bonfire in the little shed behind his house. I was sure we were gonna catch it on fire, but Jon Paul didn’t seem concerned. When we went inside, he had glow sticks to play with, but instead of just waving them around in the dark we cut them open and painted the walls with the glow in the dark fluid. We had such a blast doing this we did it a few times more in that house. Jon Paul always found something fun to do. I sure miss the silly days with him.

Easter at the lake

April 19, 2022
We had Easter with his brother Dustin, his son Jabin and my son Jesse, there at Enders lake. It was chilly but we had a blast painting eggs and hiding them. The kids threw the plastic eggs in the lake which made for a pretty neat picture. The coolest thing was the stick Jon Paul found that looked like a cross. We dug a hole in the shore and planted it there while we made a fire to roast marshmallows. Dustin and Jon Paul played around with the branches that were burning , play fighting with one another. Big kids the two of them. I sure miss those days at Ender lake.

Thought he had drowned

April 19, 2022
I remember one time we were at the Enders lake, when we were first dating. His brother had moved in with him and we all went to the lake to hang out. Jon Paul decided he was gonna go for a swim. He was always a good swimmer and loved the water like any fish would. But he didn’t just go for a swim, he decided to make it a challenge and swim clear across the lake to the other side. I, at the time, didn’t know how strong of a swimmer he was, and watched with nervous anticipation as he reached the other side. He was a mere spot on the other side, so when he got back in to swim back to us I lost sight of him. I was for sure he got swept away and drowned. I almost called the 911 till another at the lake and his brother Dustin spotted him. He did get swept away a bit but he did make it back. I was so scared but relieved he was ok. It was that day I realized how good of a swimmer h really was.
