I have to say, I became friends with this amazing man because of Andrea. And one day he was in town where I lived and asked if I would like to meet at one of the beach restaurant's.  Just wanted to talk and meet one of Andreas friends.  He use to comment allot on my fb and gave me great advise when I was going through a bad time. I did meet him and had one drink and we talked about how he loved Andrea andhis sons and grandkids.  I think he just needed a friend to talk to,vent to with not saying anything.  Looking back, I should of looked and checked on him more.  Just like my dad...but no signs I seen then either . To make a happy ending...he still lives on... my what happened on the day post...he shows up as a like or a statement and it makes me smile.  

I was devestated to hear of Jose's passing, a man I knew as so full of life and energy. I greatly appreciate all he had done for me and getting my instructing career started years ago with his law enforcement Spanish training. I personally witnessed Jose positively impact hundreds (maybe thousands) of law enforcement professionals with his work. 

Thank you for everything Jose...you are missed. 

I recently became aware of Jose's passing.  I want to extend my condolences to the entire Alentado family.  I first met Jose in 1994 while he was the Program Manager for the LESTP program at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ.  I was truly impressed by his ability to manage the program and his expertise with the subject matter.  I was one of the Adjunct Instructors assigned to assist with the program and fortunate to have worked with and know him.  He had a great sense of humor; wicked at times.  Being of Puerto Rican descent and Jose of Cuban descent, we would always rib each other.  May God provide your famly with  comfort, grace, understanding and love above to help you through this dificult period.  God bless your entire family.  Con todo respeto y amor para un colega y amigo.  Descanza en Paz.

I do not know if Jose was aware of how much of a positive influence he was on my life. As much as we were togethe r it just never came up in conversation. We were too busy teaching, laughing, telling stories about Ron, or defending ourselves from each others' practical jokes. I can honestly say that without having met him, I would not have accomplished many of the things that I did in my life. 

Jose, my friend, I miss you, I thank you, and I know you are watching over us now.
