Dear Barry, thank you for your dedication and thoughtful lessons on economy and life. I can only believe that you have inspired more than our class and I will always keep with me what you’ve thought me.

Barry’s witty way of teaching economics was something that made economics interesting. He was a professor whom I will never forget. It is a grave loss for all of us. I wish that he rests inpeace and strength to all his family, friends and dear ones.

So many years after I still remember your lectures. Yes, wit, analysis, fun - "oh dear". You were brilliant. It is very sad now. But your knowledge and kind attitude will always be with us. We will remember and miss you.

What a shock to hear of Barry's passing. He has made a lasting impression on me as my economics lecturer. With his enthusiasm, directness and wittyness he could turn something absolutely boring into something highly captivating. And then the fact that he could always be approached outside classes, still with the same enthusiasm... this is really a blow.
