Joseph was born on October 23, 1941, to Korto and Dehmue in Liberia. He was raised by his aunt Kenemassah and uncle Samie Jordan.  After graduating from Booker Washington Institute Senior High School in 1963, he continued his studies becoming an electrician at Lebanon Technical College in 1964.  After graduation in 1965, he moved to the New York to advance his electrical training and start his career as an electrician.  He later moved to Baltimore, Maryland where he worked for the University of Maryland Medical Center in until retirement.

Joseph, lovingly known to family and friends as “Joe”, began to build his family while in New York and then Maryland. He finally met the love of his life, Magdalene, in Baltimore. They got married on October 24, 1992. Joe was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Comforter in Baltimore.

Joe lived a plentiful life filled with close friends, cousins, brothers and sisters. He enjoyed watching movies, good music, dancing, fixing things for friends and family, and a healthy plate of African food.  His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, he often spoke of them and made sure he kept in touch with those he loved. He was unendingly proud of all of his girls and grandchildren.  He would always greet everyone with a smile and genuinely seemed happy to see them.

In early January this year, he fell ill and was admitted at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Bayview Center. Sadly, he went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on February 16, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. He was predeceased by his Parents and four Siblings. He is survived by his widow: Magdalen Kpana. Brother: Karpo.  He leaves as his legacy, 6 children: Monica, Jennifer, Lydia (Dana), Lilaah (Joshua), Korto, and Jothel. 2 stepsons: Anthony and Milton. 9 grandchildren: Xavier (Diana), Jabari, Miles, Jelani, Mekhi, Kemari, Kharon, Khori, Jace and a host of cousins, family and friends who loved him dearly. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
