Joe, Carol and Family,
I am very sad to read of Joe Jr.’s passing. I hope your many happy memories will help you get through this most difficult time.
Joe, I met you after my Caterpillar group, Computing and Controls, moved from Building W in East Peoria to the new Building E, at the Mossville Technical Center, in September 1966. Shortly, I was an Electrical Engineer in the reworked Controls and Fluid Mechanics group. I think you were in Building L. In 1964 I had a College Graduate training station in Building L. I assisted Bill Cole in a spark test project on electric drive motors. In 1967 or 1968 (memory is a little weak), Ed Ferre and I worked on paralleling a diesel driven electric generator with a natural gas driven electric generator. The test cell was in Building L (wing 3 I think). Also, I think I was at your house when you lived west of Knoxville Ave. around McClure Ave. (?).
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Ed Johnson (Caterpillar MEC Retired)
Peoria, IL
