Bishop Joe and I only shared a few lunches and his Priest Ordination service together. Though not much time, Joe's spirit was so intensely penetrating that he permeated my life's sphere. Joe's zeal for peace, justice and inclusion tempered my many predispositions. Even though our face-to face time was miniscule, it was at the same time ethereal, and its impact eternal.
I will remember him in grateful awe until I join him at a heavenly table.
