Pa Wirlen,
As we remember you this day of your passing on, to me you are not really gone. Your wise words of counsel, astute and positive approach even in the tempest storms keep resonating in my mind, it is the food that nourish us. That's a pointer, that all is not lost with your demise as the family moves on despite your transition. We pray that you continue to intercede for us for your going was an annihilation like in the book of wisdom.
Pa pray for the family you left behind that unity and peace shall strive amongst us till we meet to part no more.

May your soul rest in perfect peace in Jesus name I pray. Amen

Dear Joe, Sorry it took such a long time to discover this memorial website. I feel a special sadness at the loss of a very dear friend. I remember first meeting you when I was sent to CCAS Kumba as a young graduate from college. We forged an immediate connection as colleagues that blossomed into a wonderful platonic friendship over the years. I will miss you dearly. Rest in perfect peace.

I am so happy i was able to be of service to you all as i delivered that very important mail to him on my return. He appreciated you all and was so happy for your plans. Be happy for he is happy.!

Since I received the sad news that my uncle had passed, the thoughts of him has hardly left my mind. I spent part of my secondary school years with my uncle and his beautiful family. My uncle was so gentle softly spoken. He was the stuff gentle men are made of and he is a rare specie.

I am so happy and proud that he was part of my family.

Oh Uncle Joe Wirlen, i came to know you as a family member when i was your student in GHS Kumbo. Little Boygha and Yaya and sister Kate kept the link. You were the main bond in the Shamwun's family. Calm, soft spoken, you coordinated the family your own way. Now that you are gone, what about our planned meeting with Yaah sist. We are still looking forward to you. A Dieu Uncle we miss you.

I still have my hands in the air because i shook hands with Pa a week before his death. Pa Wirlen, One month before you left, I promised you a goat as an apology for the numerous trips I had undertaken thru Bamenda without stopping by to say hello. I am sad that our discussions about your worries at the embassy could end this way. I leave the rest of the talking till when I will meet Lucas, Ken or Raymond and their families. Pah, I wouldn't really say I spoke to you all your life but I very well remember ALWAYS sitting behing you in Church at St John's Church Foncha Street for the 2nd Mass.Fare thee well, for certain you are resting in the Lord's bossom.

I have never met you Pa but seeing your Picture I conclude you were a man who always kept people laughing as your son Kenneth did to us in BIROKOL.
