I can't believe it has already been one year since you passed; hearing the news was beyond saddening and as you would say "i lost a piece of my heart that day." I miss you and think about you and my mom every day. Although, I'm sure you wish you were still walking the casinos in vegas and collecting your chips, you are in a better and more peaceful place. Rest in Peace Uncle Joey

It's seems like only yesterday that Jackie and I would be visiting you in Vegas again, you picking us up at the baggage claim and heading to your house. I will never forget the first time you took us to the Palace Station Buffet. We loved each and every buffet you took us to and we will never forget the great memories we created that we will cherish forever!!!! A year after Joe's passing, I have a greater understanding of his wisdom and the challenges he faced with the chip collector hierarchy. He was a good friend who's absence has left a void in my life.

May he RIP!

My sincere condolences to Joe's family. I met Joe through one of his CFD buddies, John Griffin, about 6 years ago when Joe returned from Thailand and was living near Midway airport. Then, this past September, I was in Las Vegas and called Joe.  He showed me his collection of plaques and Hooter's memorabilia and we stopped at Hooters in the Palms.  We had 2 buffet lunches/dinners, he showed me around Spanish Trails and his home and we visited the "Pawn Stars" shop(which I had requested.  He even gave me a lift to the airport when I left, one of my regrets is that I didn't go to Thailand on his trip in December(still intend to!).
Joe was a great, friendly and thoughtful guy!
I am sorry I missed the service.

Was so shocked with Joe's recent passing . Only knew Joe because he was a member of The National Casino Collectibles that I'm a member of . He was so full of energy and really loved his hobby and Las Vegas where he enjoyed his retirement. He always made time at the annual Casino Club Show to talk about chips and his ventures to the Orient which he really loved traveling to. I will miss him and so are members of our club. RIP Joe

I first met Joe at a Hooters Event in Las Vegas in 2003. Not only did Joe love to collect memorabilia, he was an avid photographer. Joe always made the events a lot more fun because he made sure there was always something fun to do. We missed each other for a few years until I ran into this past year in Las Vegas at the Palms. I was very happy to see him and didn't even remotely suspect it would be the last time. It was a shock to hear he had been taken so suddenly, but so great to have seen him those last few times out in Vegas last year. Those of us many friends that he made at Hooters of events will always remember Joe & we will be thinking of him whenever we attend these events. I know his spirit will be with us. To his family and many friends, I am so sorry for your loss. Joe will be greatly missed.

Joe was a great friend and more like a brother to me. Joe loved life and all it had to offer and it was a pleasure to know him. I have a great big hole in numbness in my being. I will remember all the joys and fun times we shared. Joe made life more exciting and I will miss our "on earth friendship" but he will always be there in spirit. Godspeed Joe Pavlik

So sorry to lose Joe. You were a great guy and a good friend. I will miss all the phone calls about all the new chips out and the posts showing the hard to get NCV chips you collected. I will miss the stories of the trips to Thailand and Hooters. All the pictures of your new acquisitions... You will be a huge loss in our hobby that you loved so much. No one will be able to keep track of everything the way you did. You will be missed. Your buddy from Baltimore!

Joe was an avid collector with a passion for anything to do with the Hooters Casino brand. Always helpful and friendly, Joe did a lot of volunteering for the chip club. A great man who went too soon. Joe will be missed by many.

Joe was an interesting man. He loved his life with the Chicago Fire Department and enjoyed his life in Vegas. He did not smoke, Drink, drugs and only once did I know him to gamble at the Lucky Dragon to get the new Plaque.
Joe would call me morning or night and tell me that a chip just came out and say do not tell anyone. I also know he called about 10 other people and told them the same thing. Joe would find or buy and somehow come up with some very rare and one of a kind dice, chips, plaques and slot glass. He was always looking for the next new something to show off. Joe just wanted to have friends. We enjoyed the Ellis Island dinners with Ross, Rob Myself and others every now and then. Joe would always have a new something to show us and have a story on how he got it.
Joe loved his cheap bargain dinners. Not sure if he had breakfast of lunch. One supper Bowl Sunday a few of us met at Joe's and we had Pizza to cook. We asked Joe about his oven and he said he never used it before. Joe is a simple man but he loved his life and the joy of wondering around Las Vegas for the next great picture to share.
Joe is missed and I hope he finds that next treasure where ever his is now resting

Although I only knew Joe for a short time here in Las Vegas thru the Chip Collecting Hobby ... we became friends and had many a good laughs and discussions about many topics.  Joe was so excited to be retired in Las Vegas and loved creeping around this great city meeting new people.  Joe loved decorating his nice home at Spanish Trails and was very proud of his collection.  We will miss his fun posts on the Chip Board and his tales and travels ... Joe was a good guy and may god bless his soul!  .... take care Joe ... Rich Burgel, Lost Vegas Antiques

Joe will be missed by the Las Vegas contingent.

He had boundless enthusiasm for his chip and casino memorabilia collection and was an ambassador for the hobby.

Joe befriended me at the Riviera hotel/casino liquidation sale. I will always see him in the reflection of the brass door pull he convinced me to buy.

Neighbors and friends, Joe and I would enjoy Las Vegas cheap eats together.

Joe had a zest for life and I am deeply saddened by his untimely passing.

Rest In Peace, my friend.
