Road Trips

June 13, 2012

My fondest memories are all of the fun roads trips we took.  Between him and mom, we stayed at the beaches and State parks throughoutMarylandduring the Summer months.

There was a quite few times where there were so many of us going that Dad would rent a moving truck, purchase bundles of hay, spread the hay over the bed of the truck, and covered it with blankets to make it comfortable for the drive.  This was where we rode and slept during long road trips... LOL … After Daddy gathered us up, he put us in the back of the truck; he stopped off at the  grocery/convenience stores to purchase a bunch of lunch meats, cheeses, bread, chicken, kool-aid, sodas, chips and cookies.  He also brought along a grill, and packed the coolers tight.  We would get on the highways to head down to theEastern Shoreareas for overnight stays to go swimming, fishing and crabbing.  Dad made friends everywhere he went and we always stopped off to see them.  His friends would allow us to use their facilities, and wash up at a basin to clean ourselves up a bit.  I could go on and on about some of the other wild road trips that we took, but I’m sure you get the essence of my story. Nothing like the good ole days!

R.I.P Daddy - - Love you... Miss You !!!!!!!!!!!!
