To my dearest Sis. Joy

May 12, 2021
Wow....We truly surrender to God's Sovereignty on this, it came too soon and as a shock to us all but our consolation is that you slept and arrived into a better place, a glorious and beautiful realm!

I will miss you sooo much ma, you are extremely caring and sincerely loving! I recall the days of our training and consulting work in Phc.....you were always there to provide soft landing and support to our team members. I cannot forget interacting with you during your Lagos visits and how you make me laugh endlessly!!!!

Thank you for leaving a great legacy behind, thank you for all you did.....we will thank God for you always. Your joy shall never end in eternity.

You did not die, you only slept in the Lord.

A Woman with no Guile

May 4, 2021
I met Aunty Joy about 11 years ago through her dear Sister Belema Uzamere. Immediately we met, a bond of friendship was struck between her, my wife and I. She was such a friendly person that there was no need to break any ice as years of friendship commenced.

Her friendly mien was not what really struck me most as outstanding in her character, as much as a notable attribute of immense proportion that signified God's love and grace upon this lovely soul. This attribute was that which Christ noted in Nathaniel in John 1:47 in their first meeting. Christ instantaneously described Nathaniel as a true Israelite in whom there's no "guile".

The word guile is translated in the NET as "deceit". Aunty Joy was certainly a woman who had no deceit within her.

My wife and I spent some days with her in her home in Port Harcourt. She opened her doors and arms to us and the confidence that God will do us good that freely flows from her flowed into our lives.

Shortly before she passed on, we received a call from her, just to check on us and I promised seeing her next time I come to Port Harcourt. Certainly that promise will still be fulfilled, however this time, it will be in the bossom of Christ in eternity. We part to meet again.

Adieu my lovely Sister.

Something About Joy

May 3, 2021
After my sojourn in the United States of America, where I also got married and had a daughter , I came home to Port Harcourt. My then husband, an Ikwerre man was still in the US . I was virtually compelled to live in the family house in the village. I was not a Port Harcourt Girl and was very unfamiliar with the Port harcourt environment. It was a lot of culture shock for me. I had no friends, and no family members that were my age mates.
Then Joy found out I was back in Port Harcourt. And I got my groove back! We became five and six for the almost two years that I spent in Port Harcourt before moving to Lagos.
The distance between us only made our hearts grow fonder.  She tried to get me to come back to Port Harcourt, but Lagos was more economically and professionally viable for me.
She got a brief chance later.
As Public Relations Manager of the then Pabod Breweries , she invited me to anchor the first ever Ms Bond Show in Rivers State! That was my very first major Master of Ceremony assignment in Rivers State. Many years later, I earned the title "the Golden Voice"
Truly there was something about Joy!!!
