This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Mildred Juanita Ortner, 90, born on July 13, 1921 and passed away on November 12, 2011. We will remember her forever.

Mrs. Mildred Juanita Ortner, age 90, of Tullahoma, passed away Saturday at the Manchester Healthcare Center. A native of Fayetteville, she was one of fourteen children of the late Jesse and Minnie Elizabeth Towry. She was a retired seamstress at Tennessee Apparel, a greeter at Wal-Mart for 10 years, and was a member of the Highland Baptist Church. She was known as “Granny” to most all who knew her. She not only helped in raising her grandchildren, she was a babysitter for many. Juanita was member of the Senior Citizen’s Club and was greatly loved by everyone who knew her. She will live in the hearts of her family and friends forever ~ never to be forgotten. With strong and steady steps and our gracious Lord beside her, she has finally made it home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Ortner, and two sons; John Wayne Ortner and Jesse Dewey Ortner.
She is survived by two sons; Darnell (Paulette) Ortner of Tullahoma, and Ricky Dale (Sue) Ortner of Murfreesboro, one daughter; Bonnie Elizabeth (John) Tomes of Tullahoma, eight grandchildren; Kimberly Sue Ortner Griffin, Callie Sherree’ Powers, Shannon Rae George, John Edward Ortner, Stacy Vreeland Baker, Sharon Ann Wilder, Annabelle Barnes, and John Richard Ortner 13 great-grandchildren, one brother; Luther bates and one sister; Hastine Hickson.
