College Days in Denver would never have been so joyous and eventful without Judy. Two California girls found each other and lots of fun along the way, yet with serious purpose in mind. What a beautiful life Judy had and what a beautiful person she was. I will cherish my memories of her forever.

Though I didn't know Judy and Reed very well, I heard about them alot through my sister Jan. I know how hard this is for the family and she will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family during thes trying time.

I loved your smile, energy, and kindness. You always gave 2000 percent when 100 percent would do.

I will miss our conversations about medicine, hikes, sports, traveling, our families and unruly teens.

I love you and will miss you.

Your friend and Coworker

Sister Gabriel Mason taught psychology and I, Sister Lydia Pena, taught Art History at Loretto Heights College during the years that Judy was there in the class of 1968. We had planned to go to the rosary and wake this evening, but the weather kept us away. We assure Reed and her daughters of our prayers. And thank God for the values that Judy exemplified. She is now with her God.

My heart goes out to all of you. I just saw Judy on Halloween trick-or-treating with my kids. I have many fond memories of her as a child spending time at the Ferrill's house. We both have had amazing women taken too early from us. God bless you all.

Aunt Judy - I will always remember how amazed I was to hear about your various adventures and trips (from my mom - M'lu). It made me excited for you and I realized how much passion you had for life, and the courage and excitement you had in everything you did. We will miss you so much but you will always be remembered and celebrated. We love you!

I will miss her welcoming hug - along with our customary "hey, good lookin'!" greeting - at our frequent family gatherings. No one was a stranger to Judy, who had an uncanny ability to connect with people. She combined that with a wonderful good nature. We have the opportunity over the next few days to celebrate, as Bernie noted, a life well lived. We're all privileged to have known you, Judy.

"Sharon called and told me this sad news. I have fond memories of the Harrison kids in La Crescenta. M'lu and family, you are in my thoughts and prayers. May your memories bring you comfort. Judy led quite a life! All of you should be so proud of her. She's your angel now. I, too, remember all the sandwiches-even on week-ends! I'm thinking of you." All My Love, Nancie in California

Friends since H R Elem., thru St. Andy's HS, then long-distance friends ever since, Judy was a lifelong friend and a true gift to my heart & soul. Her spirit & joy were unbridled, flowing freely over us all. Thank you to her entire & extended family for sharing her with us & for providing this beautiful tribute in which we all share not only our sense of loss but also the joy of knowing her!

Judy touched my life in such a way that the shock of her passing has especially taught me that God takes His own to teach us all what truly is a kind, caring, compassionate, and giving human being. My heart goes out to her family and friends beyond what I can even begin to communicate.

As classmates at Lorretto Heights, and neighbors in the dorm, I remeber the many loud and happy events that were always going on in Judy's room. Even though we went separate ways, we visited in Casper and then of and on back in Denver. Though time often passed, there were always fond rememberances at the get-togethers. May His light continue to shine upon Reed and the girls and their families.

A trusting soul, uncompromising love, infused with happiness; that was my sister-in-law. If there's a bunch of shops in heaven that sell trinkets then Judy will be there. She loved to shop! Her legacy is her wonderful daughters and their beautiful children (grandchildren), they learned from the best. Love and Prayers to Reed and the rest of the family, we're there for you.

I am so deeply saddened of losing a wonderful sister-in-law. Judy had the spirit that brought laughter and joy we all shared at family events and vacations together. When I needed support and advice, Judy was my on-call/on-line personal nurse and trusting confidant. These memories of laughter and love will always live in my heart and play over and over again.

I knew Judy at St. Andrews High in Pasadena, CA. Even though we were never “best friends” and did not keep in contact after high school, I remember her always smiling, sweet and everyone's friend, even back then. From the pictures and tributes, I can see she lead a loving and love-filled life, and will be terribly missed.

Judy, a dear, dear friend for the last 46 years, since our freshman year at Loretto Heights. Judy graciously made her friends into family, and her family into friends. Her light shines on beautifully in her daughters, Bonnie, Barb, Jen & Christine.

Judy was a wonderful neighbor, a great mom and a good friend to my parents. I remember how she would make sure the girls had vitamins on their plates at dinner time. I'll always remember her smile and her caring ways. And, how well she could project her voice when calling Bonnie upstairs from the basement.

Bologna? How about the PB&Js with the jelly seeping through the bread and out the sides?
My sister was the most caring person I've ever known; a joy, a blessing and an annoyance(she was my sister after all). Judy's wisdom, laughter and enthusiasm will always be a part of me.I thank God for that and for the blessing she was in my life.

I only met Judy a few years ago at Karen and Dick's rewedding on Catalina. We formed a bond that I believe would have been much stronger had we not lived so far apart after such a short acquaintance. She was a lovely, loving person. I miss knowing she is no longer of this world. God bless you, her family in this untimely and tragic loss.

How fortunate I am to have had the opportunity to get to know Judy and to call her my sister-in-law. Her time here was definitely cut short but what a wonderful impact she had on so many of us. Her presence here on earth will never be forgotten but will live on in her beautiful daughters and grandchildren. I will be forever grateful to have known her.

Judy was truely one of the most kind, caring and giving people I have ever known. She was always willing to lend a helping hand or give of her time or gentle encouragement. It was an honor and privilege to know her. I am sure God has a special place for her. To the family, blessings and prayers at this difficult time.

Always a smile, a hearty laught, and lively personality. We remember our neighbor Judy with fondness. She loved her family dearly and grew beautiful flowers. She was a daredevil driver and flew into the driveway at 20mph! The Lundeens

What a wonderful reception to Colorado we received from Judy!! She was so excited to have some of "her family" here (we are first cousins once removed), and included us in everything from the beginning. She was such a special person, and will be greatly missed by us all.
I am so sad that we did not get to have the lunch we promised ourselves after the new year...

Not many are fortunate enough to have great sister-in-laws. I am forever grateful for the wonderful love and support she and my brother shared. Hers was always the ear I could bend about trials and tribulations. Such a kind and understanding person. She will be dearly missed.

A decade of birthdays without you, Mom, but I feel you watching over me today, when you would have been 75. I got a Covid-19 vaccine appointment today, after trying for more than a week, and it doesn't feel like it was a coincidence that it happened on March 16.

Shared birthdays

March 16, 2011

Mom and I share a birthday month. With only eleven days between our birthdays, there were several years when my family celebrated both of our birthdays at the same time rather than have two birthday dinners in two weeks. Sometimes, when I was young, I felt a little cheated that the birthday dinner wasn’t for me alone. But as I got older, I enjoyed being able to share the birthday dinner with Mom: It was doubly special because we were celebrating two Ferrill birthdays, and Mom and I got to sit back and relax together while everyone else did the clearing and cleanup. Mom would have been 65 today. Happy birthday, Mom.

Memories!

January 21, 2011

Judy and I hung out constantly. Our parents were friends so it worked out well with us. After school, weekends, and summers we were always together with others also. I have many stories about Judy and I but this is the one that stands out the most.

I turned 16 in January of 1962 and Judy turned 16 in March of 1962. My father would not let me get my drivers license. After Judy turned 16, she came over in her old Pontiac, (1955 or 1956?) and said let's go get your license and you can use my car. I agreed and off we went to get in trouble. I got my license but both Judy and I were grounded. Oh well!

A quick comment that I took Judy to my Graduation All Night Party at Pickwick Center in Burbank. I graduated in 1963 and she was just going into her senior year the following September. We danced and bowled and shot pool and talked all night. On the way home we went out to breakfast at Bob's Big Boy and then to her house by 6am, totally exhausted. I went home and napped and we were back out by 4pm that afternoon to finish celebrating. I will miss you and God Bless you.
