Special remembrances to a special lady.

My sincere sympathy to the family. Karen has left a great legacy to the Island through the Young Singers program of Bainbridge Chorale. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us. We will miss you!

I was honored to work closely with Karen on one of her many, many projects. I remember watching her conduct Side by Side once, marveling at how much knowledge, feeling and artistry she was able to telegraph to each singer with a simple gesture or glance. She had so much heart, and will be deeply missed.

The first time I saw Karen was circa 198, and she was directing the cast of Guys and Dolls in "Sit Down, You're Rocking the Boat." I could see in an instant that she was eliciting extraordinary performances. Since then I've been privileged to sing under Karen's direction. She was a force of nature and will be missed keenly by all.

Karen will be missed by many. I thank you, Karen, for believing in me as a singer. It meant a great deal to me.

We have lost a great friend. My deepest condolences.
