I just came upon this remembrance of Cathy, nearly a decade after her passing. And, sadly, after a half century since my last contact with her. She was a colleague, working on a transportation study in Berkeley. We met up again after we both had moved to the Washington DC area. I remember her as intelligent, funny and caring. RIP

Once a friend of Kathleen's always a firend. Her calls were upbeat, newsy, full of ideas and reports of happenings of her firiends across the country. She was warm and encouraging. She was especially comforting when my son died 2 years ago. She encouraged my remembrances of him and offered her support. I miss Kathleen and think of her often. She had a heart of gold.

I have very fond memories of our high school friendship. Kathleen was fun and funny, very good hearted and very very brainy!! We followed different paths after high school graduation but on the occasions when our paths crossed, she sang the praises of her sons with great enthusiasm. And her world view remained generous and progressive. I was blessed to know you, Kathy! From Anna

The entire Kalis family, Mary, Bill, Michelle and Willie remember many family gatherings in Bethesda with the Grady family. We all remember Kathleen's generous spirit, she was always ready to help someone in need. She was very good about keeping up with family, including making the cross country train trip from California to DC many times over the years. She loved train travel.

I wanted to add that it was Kathleen who suggested I transfer from UCLA to Berkeley and come live with them...which changed my life forever, and I think for the better. We had many many great times on Hillcrest Ave back when. In recent years, she always invited me to stay at her place on trips from the bay area to Portland, was a very warm and welcoming host. God bless you, Kathleen.

It is fun especially seeing the older photos, when Joe and Steven were kids, when I lived with them for a few months. We had a lot of great times. I was also glad the kathleen and I got the chance to patch up some old difficulties before she died. God Bless.
