Kathleen W. Haley, Kitty, Aunt Kittyatha, Mom #2

All of these names describe the same wonderful lady, my second Mother. Krista and I met 44 years ago and that's when I also met her Mom. From the first day that I met her until the last time that I saw her, Mom#2 always treated me like one of the family and I always felt welcome at 1419 Spring Ave and 13415 Fork Rd. Maybe I was part of the family since, after our Senior year of high School, Krista's Mom and Dad gave the ok for me to take a 3 week car trip to Idaho with them to visit Keith; I went as his sister.

As time passed, and I saw Mom Haley less frequently, she would still greet me and make feel welcome whenever I would see her. Her kindness wasn't only given to me. Many years ago when my husband (then boyfriend) moved from Virginia to Maryland and needed a place to stay, Krista's Mom and Dad invited him to use their basement apartment while he found a permanent place to live. Later on when Dave and I got married, Mom #2 made the dresses for our flower girls.

I have many memories of Mom Haley. One that I will never forget and that meant so much to me was her compassion when she attended my Mom's funeral and made a point to speak to me .As she comforted me, she said " Your Mom will never truly be gone as long as you keep her in your heart."

Krista, Kara, Kevin and Keith, your Mom will never truly be gone because I will always keep her in my heart as well. May God grant her peace and reunite her with your Dad.

Dear Cara,

I only met your mother during her final years, so did not know her. But I was always struck by her smile - perhaps she didn't always have it, but she was smiling a happy smile every time I saw her. That is what I will remember about her, and hope that as I age, my smile will be shared as hers was. God Bless you all. Annie

Our deepest sympathy to the passing of your Mom.  We know how painful and difficult that is - you feel as though a piece of your heart is forever torn away.

We pray that the Holy Spirit fills you with comfort during this sad time.  Remember all the joyful and wonderful things about your Mom.

May the peace of Christ be with you and all your family.
