After nine years of struggling with alzheimers, my mother passed away this morning in Colorado. My sister, God bless her, was by her side holding her hand. My mother was a quiet person - soft and gentle -but never weak; firm in discipline - but never unfair or hurtful; always forgiving - seeking the best for others before thinking of herself. She was full of love and adventure! She always lived by the faith that she shared with her husband and instilled in her children. I can rejoice today, amid my selfish tears, for her happy reunion with her husband and her God. I know my dad is happy she has finally arrived!!

Marjorie "Kathleen" (Wadsworth) Haley was born in Lilybrook, WV on June 4,1928. She was the 4th child born to the Reverend G.G.and Velma Wadsworth. Her family moved often as was required by a Methodist pastor's family. She attended Fairmount High School and Fairmount State College where she majored in Home Economics. In April, 1949 she met the the love of her life, Frank L. Haley.

Frank had served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and had come to West Virigina (by way of Baltimore) with his brother Joe to pursue a business venture. After meeting Kathleen at the Methodist church, the romance began. Six months later they married and began their life together in Baltimore. Frank and Kathleen moved from Dundalk, MD to Rosedale, MD in 1954. There they raised four children, Keith Gordon, Kevin Blaine, Kara Jo and Krista Lynne.

Kathleen and Frank were very active members of Dundalk Methodist and Orems United Methodist Church serving in the sunday school, men and women's group, and, most notably, with the youth. They directed and inspired many young people in their walk of faith. Their love for God, family and each other was a testiment to their own faith journey. In 1980, Frank and Kathleen continued their Christian walk at Camp Chapel United Methodist Church where they continued to be active members of the faith community. Frank and Kathleen loved to travel and did so often to spend extended time with their children and grandchildren. Kathleen would assist her husband in any task or project that he took on, working right along side him to accomplish the job. Frank passed away in 1992.

After Frank's passing, Kathleen continued to be active in church activities and with her children and grandchildren. She took great pleasure in helping her sons in any project that they were involved in and the phrase, "can't be done" never crossed her lips. She was also an excellent seamstress and would tackle any sewing project that was presented. She was a woman of strength, patience and faith.  She never waivered in her devotion to her family and her faith. In the last 9 years of her life she battled alzheimers. She faced the trials of this disease with the same strength and faith that she faced every situation in her life. Her life was a blessing to all who knew her and an example for all of us who strive to live a Christian life.

Kathleen passed away on March 21, 2014 in Loveland, Colorado. She is survived by her four children, 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
