Kathryn Leyn passed away peacefully before her time on January 17th, 2015 after a short battle with cancer.  She was a loving wife, mother, and a devoted friend to many.  She is terribly missed and will always be remembered.

Kathryn received superb care from multiple surgical and care teams at Trillium Hospital, 100 Queensway Drive, Mississauga.  In lieu of flowers or other gifts, her family would appreciate a donation to Trillium Health Partners Foundation to support the work done at these facilities.

Dear Kathryn
I can't believe it's been 4 years. We still miss you very much. My girls are now in high school and I am a permanent teacher with the Board. Thank you for all your encouragement. Our school is even performing at Roy Thomson Hall this year! I would not be here today if it wasn't for special people like you who wouldn't let me give up. God bless.

Dear Kathryn,

We think of you often and still miss you dearly. My girls are teenagers now and still remember the chocolates you used to give them during the Holidays. I finally finished school and now I am a music teacher with the Toronto District School Board! I wish you were here to see it. You saw me through so many hard times and made me smile. Rest well knowing that you are loved.

Katush, 2 years ago today at 1:05 am I've got a call from Trillium that you left us. We all remember you always. I mention to Brandy your name, she raised her ears and runs to the door, believes you are coming back. We love you. We are leaving now in Waterloo as we have dreamed. B&B

We knew Kathryn for a brief time, but in that time, she managed to touch our hearts with her kindness. It was plain to see that Kathryn had a most kind and generous spirit. She will be in our hearts and conversations for a long time to come.

We still feel your presense Kathryn! So many times throughout the year, something or someone would remind me of you. Be it a beautiful bird visiting our window, or a beautifully wrapped gift, or just shopping in the mall looking at lovely items that would remind me of you because I know you would appreciate it. Family get-togethers will never be the same without your bubbly laugh. Gone too soon :-( Miss you much! Rest in peace xo

Today is 1 year since my Mom passed away. She passed away from various hospitalization-related complications, but a very aggressive glioblastoma multiforme tumor started it all in Oct 2014. It's fitting that there is some recent positive news (http://neurosciencenews.com/glioblastoma-nbd-neurology-3383/) on the progress of this death sentence disease that currently cannot be predicted nor mitigated in any viable way ... but it won't bring my Mom back.

I was there in the pre-OR just before her emergency brain surgery. She didn't recognize me, but talked to me about me and Dad in 3rd person and how proud she was of her two boys.

I miss you dearly every day, Mom.

Dear Kathryn

It is so hard to comprehend that you are no longer in our midst Kathryn,
as one year has gone by so quickly!
We still remember all the fond memories of joy and laughter, your love
for your family, relatives and friends, and of course beloved Brandy girl!
Memories are Golden and treasured forever.
Always in my thoughts and prayers.
Rest in Peace.

On this day - the first of March - I always spoke to Katia and today when I woke up my first thought was that on this birthday -her 70th- I could not speak to my Good Friend.

Rest in Peace dear Katia.

Dear Boris and Alex,

Both Kat and I are so deeply saddened to learn of Kathryn's passing last month. Our hearts go out to you both in this most difficult of times.

Kathryn was such a loving and kind person and I fondly remember how happy and welcome I always felt in your home. You all meant so much to my family and I. I know my parents greatly treasured your friendship.

Yet, what I will always remember most is the absolute kindness, patience, support, and love, Kathryn showed to my mother as she struggled with her debilitating illness for so many years. I remain filled with never-ending gratitude to you both - dear Boris and Kathryn.

Kathryn was truly a wonderful and beautiful person and she will always be in our heart.

I will always remember when as a young teenager, Kathryn made me feel so welcome in her home, and would always go out of her way to make my favourite food.
Boris and Alex, my thoughts have been with you since I first heard the terrible news. I am sorry I didn't have the opportunity to see her the last few years, but have never forgotten her. She will always be fondly remembered.

Dearest Boris, |Alex and Audrey and not forgetting beloved Brandy.

Our deepest sympathy to you all on the demise of your dear wife and Mother Kathryn.

I write this tribute with a very heavy heart.

Words cannot express how saddened we all are at her passing.. We miss her bright smile, her infectious laugh, and her bubbly personality.

She was a great inspiration to all of us, and treated each one of our family equally . She demonstrated her love and affection in various ways. She was always so kind and considerate and always managed to impart her knowledge on any given subject.

Our family get-togethers will never be the same without her presence.

We will miss her gourmet cooking , which was delectable to the taste and exquisitely served!.

We shared many special moments together, and laughed at many
things over the phone! There was always an interesting story to share!

Kathryn has left an indelible mark on each one of us and her loving memory will forever be etched in our hearts.

Memories are Golden they say - but she has left "Golden Treasures" of a different kind.!

Rest in Eternal Peace dear Kathryn.

Lovingly remembered sadly missed.

With our united love,
In Sympathy.

Patrick and Muriel Lucas.

Dear Kathryn

Thank you for being my friend for almost twenty years. You always made me laugh when I felt like crying, and I felt like the daughter you never had. Thank you for being such an important part of my life and my girls' lives. We will love you forever.

I'm Roberto, Cynthia's fiance. I only had the pleasure of meeting Kathryn once and it isn't difficult to understand why she left an impression on people. She was sweet, honest, a good listener and a survivor. I'm so sorry that she was taken from her family and friends. Maybe God needed another angel by his side. He certainly has one now. R.I.P. Kathryn and my condolences go out to your family and friends. I will never forget you.
