Laura Mae Thomas Fleming was born on December 10, 1938 to the late S.C. Thomas and Jesse Lou Thomas.

She departed her life on March 30, 2013 at her home in Roanoke, Alabama. She joined Pinehill Baptist Church in 2005.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Fleming; her sister, Lurleen Lodar; her brother, Darryl (Phyllis) Thomas; her God-mother, Nirene Staples; two sons, Billy Ray Stowes and Willie (Red Man) Caldwell; three daugh ters, Nellena Thomas, Melody Thomas and Bridget Hunter; two granddaugh ters, Eden Stowes and Latrice Hunter.

She leaves to cherish in memory: six sons, Hugh (Janice) Hunter, William (Mary) Hunter of Roanoke, Alabama, James (LaToya) Hunter of Alexander City, Alabama, Robert Caldwell of Carrollton, Georgia, Ray Caldwell and George Fleming, Jr. of Lineville, Alabama; three daughters, Beverly Hunter of Roanoke, Alabama, Angie (Orlando) Beam as of Lineville, Alabama and Linda Caldwell of Carrollton, Georgia; five brothers, Leroy and Cozen Thomas of Lineville, Alabama, Clarence, Reggie and Merrill Thomas of Wadley, Alabama; six sisters, Judy Mae McClain, Pauline (Henry) Carter of Lineville, Alabama, Sandra and Denise Anderson of Wadley, Alabama, Ann (Jeremiah) Ross of San Francisco, California and Eula Mae Kelly of New Site, Alabama; thirty-four grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Mae Lee Hard nett; a very special grandson, Jamie O'Neal Hunter; two special friends, Willa Mae Spence and Debbie Evans.
