Laurie, please don't take the fact that it's taken me so long to post this message. It's just that the loss I feel right now is so overwhelming. I remember the first time I met you and that's when you interviewed for the CRS Admin Assistant. You were a great addition to the team and a tremendous asset.

Laurie, I'm so glad I had a chance to know you; and I occasionally think I hear that laugh of yours that brightened one's day just to be around it. One of my favorite poems is "How Did You Die"? by Edmund Vance Cooke. Every line reminds me of you, and using its yard stick, Laurie, you should be holding your head high and proud.

There is a quote from Buddha that reminds me of Laurie's journey - In the end, only three things matter: How much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you. Rest in peace my dear friend.

Laurie - We started out as co-workers, but you soon became my friend and not just because you were a fellow “foodie” or a Breaking Bad fan.  You always had a laugh for me or sound advice. You taught all of us lessons in living life with purpose and facing challenges with grace. I am grateful to have known you and Jerry, including your wonderful daughters and grandchildren.

Laurie, I will always remember Glendale RCC and the good times we had working in that satellite office far from any supervisors. Seeing your friendly face when I came back Downtown was comforting and appreciated. I can only hope that you felt some of the same comfort from your fellow clerks in your time of need. You leave a vacancy in our hearts that can never be filled. God keep you.

We don’t get to choose when our life here on earth is over. But apparently your work here was done and you had a much higher calling. I do not mourn for you but find solace knowing that you are once again healthy, happy and free of pain. I am blessed to have had you in my life, and to have gotten to know Jerry through you. You are missed, but will never be forgotten.

Laurie, Laurie, Laurie.....what can I say. You were one special lady. I remember talking to you about the meds and treatments. You fought so hard. I'm sure my daughter loves you now that she has met you in heaven. You will truly be missed because of your smile and laugh. I know you will be looking down on everyone from heaven and hopefully smiling (or laughing at us)!!!
