Biography of Mr. Mbah Lawrence Nwangui

Mbah Lawrence Nwangui was born in to the Moghamo clan in the village of Bessi Awum, Momo Division, in the North –West region of Cameroon. His mother is Ebofon Ndum Sophie and his father is Fon Royal Majesty Forkum II, of the Royal palace of Bessi. He was the first of 125 children who will dearly miss him. Lawrence in his youth loved sporting activities and played football for multiple sport teams in the region, in addition to, being one of the fastest track runners.

He attended primary school at the Presbyterian school of Bessi Awum and Azire Mankon, where he graduated, with a first school leaving certificate, and went on to the Cameroon College of Commerce in Kumba to obtain an RSA stage III diploma. Mbah Lawrence held his first job with the Cameroon Development Corporation, then with PAMOL Plantations Limited, where he worked at the headquarters in Limbe. He moved to Yaoundé and was employed as an Accountant and later, as chief of General Affairs of the National Assembly of Cameroon.

In 1981, Mbah Lawrence relocated to the United States to further his education and to accomplish his career goals. In 1986 he graduated from the University of the District of Columbia in Washington D.C. with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration and, a Master degree in Finance from Southern University in 1988. He was employed with the Embassy of the Republic of Cameroon in Washington D.C., from 1983 until his untimely departure, where he held several responsibilities namely:

·         Account and Administrative Affairs Officer in the economic mission 
·         Clerk in the Office of the Ambassador 
·         Head of the Consular Office and later became a staff of the embassy.

Mbah Lawrence died at his home in Lanham Maryland on September 15th 2014, leaving behind his wife Mbaw Theresia Nagwa Mbah, six children; six grand children, and a host of family members and friends.  May his soul rest in perfect peace.
