His Life

Mr. Leroy James, the son of the late Mr. William James and Pearl Felix James, was born March 3, 1946 in Chambers County, AL  On Thursday, April 13, 2017 he departed this life, peacefully, at his home in Valley, AL.

“Pickle James”, as he was known to many was a product of the West Point Public School System. He attended Harrison High School.

He confessed Christ at an early age and united with the Bethlehem Baptist Church West Point, GA.  In later years he attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Atlanta, GA.  He was currently attending the Mt. Zion A.M.E. on a regular base with his family and friends.

Leroy retired from West Point Home with many years of service. “Pickle James” enjoying watching the Weather Channel. He was a avid sports fan.  He often came to West Point to visit and spend quality time with his friend, Willie P. Fears, who preceded him death.

Leroy was preceded in death by one brother, William Scott and four sisters, Mattie W. Scott, Eddie M. Crimm, Cora M. Jackson, and Frances Bledsoe.

His memories will forever be cherish by: six children, Kim Dooley, Yolanda James-Carter, Edward James, Valley, AL; Leroy (India)James, Jr., Jacksonville, FL, Jonas Valention(Charesse)James, Atlanta, GA; step-daughter, Jacqueline Ramsey, Valley, AL, 17 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
