虽然您已离开科大多年，许多USTCers并没有机会与您见面，但相信每个在寒冷的冬夜里能够感受得到暖气温暖的科大学子都会想起您的恩泽！当然，更让我们感到温暖的是您的那句著名的话：“在学校里，学生就是我们的孩子。”方校长安息！您是科大永远的校长！

我一直觉得自己太小角色，蹲phoenix3年了，也不好意思去打扰方老师，没想到就从此天地永隔了。 方老师留在科大天体物理中心的书是指引我走入天体物理的明灯，特别是看到他在自己的相对论天体物理书上的签名，还有好多俄文著作，英文著作上的签名，让我深深感受到了那个时代人著学的扎实，沉稳，和广袤。 3月份在ASU开的湍流会议，冯胧胧老师和景益鹏老师来了，而且去拜访了方老师，我没想到方老师那么高龄，还在和学生讨论天文湍流的最近进展。 方老师，您治学的态度和对科学的追求，将是我永久的精神旗帜！ 方老师走好！！

As a co-author of his last scientific publication (2011 MNRAS 418, p853), I witnessed his quickness and sharpness till his last moments. If one can squeeze life for more, he made it to a superb level. As a scientist, I admire him as being younger when older, being more creative and original when more seasoned. R.I.P, dear Prof. Fang!

Prof. Fang inspired a whole generation of the youth both inside and outside China to stay with truth instead of power. His courage and wisdom will be remembered for a long time to come.

R.I.P, Pro. Fang. Thanks for your efforts for democracy and inspirations for free minds!

老师离世了，遥想25年前恍如昨日，虽未深得老师教诲，但亦有亲近聆听的机会，亦有车站送别的感概。
虽当日吴下阿蒙，所懂寥寥，唯当下一声叹息。学生于此遥拜以祭奠，望老师之英灵，守望神州。

Professor Fang: I could not believe this sad news, as only a few days ago you were still discussing with my student Yang and me on our new on-going research project. Your enthusiasm in science and research is very impressive to me and you have set a good role model for all of us.

Prof. Fang, I saw you in hallway on Wednesday and could not believe that this was going to be the last time that I see you. Your dedication to research and education will inspire me forever.
