Dear, Dear friend~

August 9, 2014

This is not so much a story. I just learned of Loretta's death several days ago, and was so very sorry to hear about it.
I've known Loretta since I was a child, when I would go to my Aunt Dolly's and on occasion would babysit for her, alternating with my cousin Sandy.

We lost touch for some years, and when our paths crossed again, Dolly was living in my home in her last days. Loretta was there the whole time. She had been a fast friend from that time on.

We shared so many things over the years, our lives were very much intertwined. And we had soooooooooo much fun with her!!
We owned a little card shop in the little town of Hudson, in the Irish Hills, and Loretta would often come to help us there. She was officially working, which she did, but her pay was being able to shop in the store...Oh she loved that. She was born to shop.

Sometimes when she would come to say at our house, once we moved to Ypsilanti, she and I would sit in recliners and watch HSN, and she even got me into it!!

She lived with us for a while about a year before she passed, from Thanksgiving until the spring, and that Christmas, I have to say was the best we've had.

She is such a loss to us. We loved her so very much and all her quirks. That was who she was. She always had a bag of little powdered donuts in her hand, and plenty of kleenex just in case. She was truly a beautiful person and friend. She will be sorely missed.
