Her Life

Lucia Marie Favaloro, 57, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 2, 2014. Lucy was born on September 4, 1956 to Tommaso and Speranza Giacalone in Monterey where she lived her whole life. 

Lucy and her husband Frank owned Franks Fish Market in Salinas for 23 years. She was a loving wife, daughter, mother, Nonna, sister, auntie and friend. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, caring for her grandchildren and spending time with her family. Lucy thoroughly enjoyed entertaining family and friends with her home-made authentic Italian meals. Her kind-hearted and compassionate spirit made her loved and cherished by all. She will always be remembered by her sense of humor and for always making everyone feel welcomed into her family. You will always be in our hearts until we meet again. You will always be loved and never forgotten. 

Lucy is survived by her husband Frank Favaloro of 37 years and their children Angela Favaloro-Manca (Paolo Manca) and Cosimo Favaloro, grandchildren Lucia Manca and Matteo Manca, mother Speranza Giacalone, sisters Donna Billante (Stefano Billante) and Francesca Burnam (Dean Burnam), brother Anthony Giacalone (Michelle Giacalone) and 32 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Tommaso Giacalone. 

A viewing will be held at Mission Mortuary on Sunday, September 7th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and will be followed by a vigil at 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be held on Monday, September 8th at San Carlos Cathedral at 9:30 a.m. Burial proceeds at San Carlos Cemetery.
