November 20, 2015

Mr. Bolton is survived by his wife of 58 years Joann Bolton, children Suzanne (Bobby) Jones of Cumming, GA and Johnny (Lori) Bolton of Lanett, AL.  His brothers Larry (Dot) Bolton of Tucker, GA and Jack Bolton of Memphis, TN and sister Martha Stone of Hampton, GA; 4 grandchildren, Kelly and Trent Jones and Anna and Jenna Bolton.

Mr. Bolton was born Friday, July 8, 1932 in Tucker, GA to Mack and Lorene Bolton.  When he turned 18, he joined the US Air Force and served for 4 years; part of his service was in England.   He married Alma Joann Hardy on April 17, 1957 at Ingleside Presbyterian Church in Scottdale, GA.  Mr. Bolton was a worker.  He served his family, his community and his church for many years.  Many people knew him as the “plumber”.  He spent many years working with his father and learning the trade from him.  Mr. Bolton, “Bobby”, loved to garden.  He spent many years tending beautiful vegetable gardens and he was famous for his prize winning tomatoes.  Bobby was also known for his award wining
pecan pies.  He learned to make these pies from his mother and he carried on her legacy.  Many, many people enjoyed his pies.  He was also known as the “candy man” at his church.  He always had a pocket full of peppermint candy to hand out to the children and other church members on Sunday morning.

Bobby loved his family.  He was present for all sporting events and loved watching his grandchildren grow up.  His final days were spent convalescing at home with his family.  The Lord called Bobby home around 7:45 pm Thursday evening.  He gladly welcomed him with open arms.  “Welcome home my good and faithful servant.”
