I grew up in Astoria and my parents were friends with Maddy's and Cuchie's parents so we got to see a lot of each other.  We lost touch after she got divorced ... last time I saw her was at my daughter's bridal shower. (I think?). Lost touch with Cuchie as well. I had been thinking of them lately. Couldn't find Cuchie's anything...so I tried Maddy's name and that's when I realized that she had passed away back in 1921 (by the way she passed on my birthday).

Son in law

From the very first moment I walked into her life “Mrs C” made me feel welcome and part of the family. She would soon become an unknowing participant of my many practical jokes, but she did so with a great sense of humor and never complained. She was unique in that she genuinely cared about all those that she met and called her their friend. My family loved her immensely and she reciprocated that love. She was gracious and ALWAYS asked about my family, each and every one of them. To me she was always “Mrs C” but as I saw her for what I knew would be the last time I called her Mom, because she was deserving of that title. And that is no joke. Love you Mom. Rest In Peace.

This is so sad, it is so hard. Aunt Maddy, I am going to miss you. I know you are not my blood relative but I love you so much. I enjoy our conversation and your laugh. I love hearing that you were traveling the world with the love of your life. God had put you in my life for a reason. It is funny that we had a conversation about purpose. I see that your purpose was to touch some many lives with your love, your friendship, your kindness, your goodness. Thank you for stand by my side and thank you for standing up for me. I always wanted you to be proud of me… All I keep hear you say I love you kid.
