  Mrs. Marinell Brown Nixon was born in Manchester, GA.  September 28, 1929 to the late Mrs. Clara Jones and Mr. Roscoe Brown, Sr.

Mrs Nixon was educated in Meriwether County School system.  Mrs. Nixon was employed at Goody’s.  After twenty years of distinguished service she retired to become a full time devoted house wife and a community  service leader.

Marinell Brown married Deacon Andrew Nixon, Sr.  After a short courtship on May 31, 1985.  They enjoyed twenty-seven years of holy matrimony.  She demonstrated unquestionable commitment to her husband, church and family.  Marinell was a proud wife and exceptional mother, sister, auntie and friend that will be truly missed.

Mrs. Nixon became a member of New Hope Baptist Church at a young age and later in life moved to Bridge Street COGIC, the church was later renamed Grace Tabernacle, where she enjoyed singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school and was a licensed Evangelist/Missionary worker and appointed one of the Mothers of the church.  Mother Nixon served faithfully for about fifty-five years until her recent illness.

Mrs. Nixon is survived by her husband Deacon Andrew Nixon, Sr. and daughters, Sara Huff and son-in-law Sam Gilbert, of Stone Mountain, GA, Mary (Walter) Ricks of Brunswick, GA, Deborah (Joshua) Simmons of Waverly Hall, GA, Doris (Tommy Pierce of Savannah, GA, Sandra (Carlton) Tynes, of Kissimme, FL, and Eugenia (Greg) Gates of Shiloh, GA; and one son, Andrew (Barbara) Nixon, Jr. of Centerville, GA. Mrs. Nixon is survived by eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; four sisters and one brother, Mrs. Martha Buchanan, Mrs. Elizabeth Shelton, Mrs. Naomi (Joe) Prather, Rachel (Joe) Howe and Elder Roscoe Brown, Jr.; brother-in-law, Frank (Betty) Nixon of Statesboro, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, along with a host of relatives and friends; and a very special life time friend, Mrs. Ruby Jackson.
