(2)ditch, and he might drown.( I had page 2 in here and it has disappeared.) I was told later that the Dr. left a piece of the afterbirth (why mama had Lynda in the hospital!) I jumped from her birth to age 5 or so when she had her tonsils out. She got SO MUCH attention! and everone was raving about her cute little turned up nose with 1/2 doz. freckles on it, and her pretty, curly redish hair.

how does one condense nearly 80 years of memories into a paragraph or two?  My first memory of LaVonne was when she was 1st born, Mama took a very bloody towel out from under her dress and put a bunch of towels in there, grabbed the baby - LaVonne, told me get in the car and we went to find Laurie (our brother) Mama said she sent him to get daddy, then realized he'd have to cross an irrigation canal and he might fall in and drown. I was told, or overheard that the Dr. left a piece of the afterbirth. That was why mama wanted to go to the hospital when Lynda was born. I have no memory after that until LaVonne had her tonsils removed. Everyone was really making her the center of attention. Everyone was talking about her cute little turned-up nose, her pretty curly redish hair and those 6 little freckles on her nose. Mr Isaacs, a friend of the family, brought her a carton of ice cream. I WAS SO JEALOUS! yet I loved her fiercely! More later....(Ladeen)
