Martie was a great visitor! She loved people and spread joy wherever she went. I am honored to have known her.

Margie was in my graduating class from Oak Hill. She was friendly and kind. She had two beautiful daughters that I had the joy and privilege of teaching. One of them went on to become a teacher. Marie loved her children. She loved life. The big "C" cme to Martie, like it does to a lot of people. Oh how I want a cure to wipe Cancer off the face of the earth. She fought the good fight as long as she could. I admire her courage and her strength. I believe in a loving God. I believe that Martie is no longer in pain. May God comfort the family. My prayers and sympathy go out to you.

Martie was like a second mom to me for many, many years. She welcomed me into her home and treated me as one of her own. She was a great cook who always shared her famous "stuffed bell peppers" and "red velvet cake" with me. I was more than happy to eat them both!
She always called me "Amy Lou!" Rest in peace Martie! You and mama behave now, you here!!
