Her Life
September 13, 2015

Mrs. Baker was born in Douglassville, Georgia on October 28, 1931, the daughter of the late Alice Carrie Whitley Roberts and Thomas Benjamin Roberts. She was always a caring person, and that was reflected in her choice of careers as Registered Nurse. The loving and professional manner in which she cared for the sick eased the suffering that each of her patients experienced. Never the slacker, she worked tirelessly in the business that she co-owned with her husband. J. C.’s Salvage was a blessing to all who were their customers, providing quality merchandise at a much lesser price. Even though her work ethic kept her busy she always made time for her family, preparing wonderful meals that would bring the family together. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and spent as much time as possible with each of them as she could. Even though there was never a lot of extra time, when time permitted she loved going to Biloxi, Mississippi to play the slot machines. She was a lovely lady who will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved husband J C Baker of Roopville, GA.; two daughters, Karen Baker of Roopville, GA., and Carolyn Ann Delano (Frank) of Franklin, GA.; two sons, Billy and jerry Baker both of Roopville, GA.; ten grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Curtis Baker; two sisters, Annice Couch, and Nina Nellett; and four brothers, Bill, Red, Howard, and Thad Roberts.
