Mary Alice Rogers Coker, 63, a resident of South Elm Street passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011, at her home.

A native of Durham County, the daughter of the late R. Gray and Caroline Ward Rogers.  She was a member of Creedmoor United Methodist and a retired School Teacher at Creedmoor Elementary School.

Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Louis H. Coker of the home, a daughter Alison C. Hughes (Mark) of Creedmoor, a son Elliott H. Coker of Youngsville, eight grandchildren, Brooke, Mark, Ethan, Rachel, Levi and Ivy Hughes, Noelle and Nathaniel Coker.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Creedmoor United Methodist Church, c/o Loree Nelson, PO Box 383, Creedmoor, NC 27522.

 

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 23, 2011, from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor with graveside services immediately following at Creedmoor Cemetery by Rev. Ben Rouse.

She was my third grade teacher. Such a nice lady. She taught us to write really large..I still write large! I never forgot her, I happened to find out that she had passed away. My condolences to her family and her friends.
