Her Life

Mary Ann Rumph Rodgers, 57, of the Mt. Andrew Community, began her life's journey on March 26, 1957. She was the daughter of the late Mary Ruth and William Davis Rumph, Sr.

She confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined Shiloh A.M.E. Church at an early age.

Mary Ann attended the Barbour County School System and also attended George C. Wallace Community College.


She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Louis Rumph and Gregory G. Rumph; one sister, Lucy Mae Rumph and a special aunt, Bertha Cowart.

She leaves behind to cherish her life, her loving husband, Early Rodgers, Jr.; one daughter, Lakeisha (Roy Shaun Lee) Rodgers, Midway, AL; two sons, Timothy Rumph, Sr., Montgomery, AL and Arkin (Cassandra Burks) Rodgers, Clayton, AL; a loving and devoted step-mother, Dora Ponders Rumph; one nephew she raised as her own, Lamont Pearison; eight sisters, Barbara J. Williams, Winter Haven, FL, Susie Diggs, Bonifay, FL, Josephine (James) Warren, Columbus, GA, Mary L. (Lonnie) White, Eufaula, AL, Katie Thomas, Clayton, AL, Evelyn Weldon, Atlanta, GA, Lisa McDuffie, Montgomery, AL and Ruth Pearison, Clayton, AL; two brothers, William D. Rumph, Jr., Clermont, FL and William E. (Christie) Rumph, III, Montgomery, AL; six grandchildren including her first grandchild who held a special place in her heart, JyQuan Carey; JyQavious Lee, Travon Rodgers, Timothy Rumph, Jr. Andirana Burks and Makayla Rodgers; mother-in-law, Mary L. Rodgers; six sisters-in-law, Gracie (James) Swain, Santa Ana, CA, Lillie Rodgers, New York, NY, Mary Guice, Detroit, MI, Rhonda (Emanuel) Thompson, Midway, AL, Cassandra Newby, Eufaula, AL and Faith (Reginald) King, Midway, AL; two brothers-in-law, Benny (Sarah) Rodgers, West Palm Beach, FL and Gregory (Brenda) Rodgers, Riviera Beach, FL; one devoted cousin, Mamie Walker; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and a countless number of friends.
