Matt was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on July 18, 1975 to Mark and Wanda Fedon. Big brother Kevin welcomed him as well. In 1978, his little sister, Angie, was born and the family was complete.

Matt was artistic from a very early age. He loved to draw and everyone was always amazed by his abilities. He was an ornery child, which we are sure does not surprise anyone! He had such a loving personality though, that his antics were usually more entertaining than frustrating.

Matt loved racing soapbox derby cars, and has described his time doing so as the best years of his life. Mark Fedon owned a body shop and used his skills and resources to create amazing cars for Matt, Angie, and Kevin, almost always getting a "best built" award. They would spend their weekends at various racing sites throughout the region, from the break of dawn until evening. Matt particularly excelled at racing, and won the state championship in 1989, which allowed him to go to nationals in Akron, Ohio.

Matt went to Park Elementary, Fredstrom Elementary, Goodrich Junior High, and Lincoln High School.

Like any good Nebraskan, Matt loved Husker football and desperately wished for a return to the option offense of yesteryear! He liked other sports as well, and was a virtual repository of sports statistics. He was a movie fanatic as well. One of his favorite movies was Goodfellas. He was a big Robert DeNiro fan.

Matt was lucky enough to find love in the years before his death. His girlfriend, Heather, brought him great happiness. Our family will be forever grateful for the support and encouragement that she gave him.

Matt was one of the most loyal people you would ever meet. We knew that if we ever needed him, he would be right there for us. Everyone who met him thought he was a great person. We will miss his humor, his wit, his making fun of our parents in a fun-loving way, and his unique and unexplainable charm.
