I am shocked to hear about the passing of Brigadier Anthony Eze, which I am just hearing about though it took place two years ago. While Eze is cited here as colonel, I knew him to be a brigadier in the Biafran army where he served with my father in that dreadful and un-civil war for survival and self-determination. Prior to the war, Brigadier (then Colonel) Eze was our neighbor in An Barracks where he resided with his wife (Aunty Joan), Andrew, their first son, and Yvette, their daughter who was still a baby when the first and second coups took place. After the war, Brigadier Eze and his family lived two houses away from us in Enugu. It is nothing but fond memories that I have of the Eze family. My heartfelt condolences go out to Andrew, Yvette, Chukwuma and Aunty Joan. May the soul of Brigadier Eze rest in perfect peace!!
