Mbuso, may you rest in eternal peace. It is still hard to comprehend that you are physically no longer with us. I first met you in Taiwan (2015), then not knowing that in the future we'll work together and you being my right hand man. It has been a blessing to have known you and worked with you. Your open mindedness, honesty, hard working and laughter will be missed. The very essence of your being will be missed. Rest Nkhosi and may the good Lord Almighty provide comfort to your wife, children, siblings and entire family. Peace be with you.

Words can not express the sadness and pain over the unimaginable loss of a friend, brother colleague and a leader.
It had been a straggle to gasp the fact that you are gone Nkosi. It deeply sink when I saw a death notice, there was your picture. That was the moment I realized, we will not see you again on this planet earth.

I remember, I met your team 2014, when our team came to study in Taiwan. Your team welcomed us with love and toured us around to see the beauty of Taiwan. We became a family of ten, where I was the only sister within nine brothers. I had never in any circumstance felt left out since you all made me part of the family. The Swaziyana we knew it through you. That was a place where Emaswati in NTUT will meet on Friday nights. In 2015 your team graduated and that when we believed it was possible to archive what we came here for.
I never knew that our path will meet again, until 2019 when we came at RSTP. You became our tour guide and introduced us to all the staff. You were a colleague and our supervisor. The one thing I learnt from you was the importance of being authentic with people. A well focused man, you always protected your brotherhoods since you had also travelled the same journey as us.

As you had gone to the other side, I believe you are eagerly waiting for us to tour us around the streets of heaven and introduce us to bo Abraham, Moses and the rest of the team in heaven. I believe you have already met Jesus, as you are one person who knows how to penetrates through people's hearts.

Hamba kahle Nkosi. May your soul rest in peace. See you in the morning Nkosi.

Rest well brother. I learnt a lot of things from you from the little time we known each other.

The love you had for your family was beyond. I remember we shared a room when we were in Taiwan and you would call the girls each day. As a young man I took something from that.

The way you loved education was also beyond. You would be the first the leave the house for school and be the last to come back.

Rest well my brother.

The thought of never seeing you again brings tears to my eyes, And even more so,
Because all of this was such a surprise.
But we should never question what God has planned for our mortality. Sometimes it’s not meant for us to understand.

So as I sit here and mourn the loss of a beloved brother and senior. I just have to keep telling myself that we will meet again, someday.

Your passing has taken me aback to the early years, usasitsatsela emaswidi ka Chris e shop... in exchange for....

I learnt with shock of your demise Mbuso. You were a "what you see is what you get" type of person; very humble and authentic. You loved what you loved so dearly. You engaged on assignments with passion and love. You made the most jokes in our class group; actually after creating it, you were it's lifeblood through and through. Each one of us asked ourselves silently in our corners of your whereabouts, until someone informed us of your fate.

You left your mark Gwavisto (of course, a nickname taken from your brother Thamie). You taught us to love our families passionately. The way you lived your life will remain an example for us to follow.

Condolences to your wife, kids, siblings and all relatives. You're a greater loss to them. If we feel this pain, how much more them.

May your soul forever remain in peace.

His Life

Mbuso Gerald Dlamini

February 9, 2021
Obituary - MBUSO GERALD DLAMINI
Mbuso Gerald Dlamini, affectionately known as Tununu, son of the late Zebrone Mfelane Dlamini and Maggie Sibongile Maphako, was born on the 18th of March 1981 at Sigombeni in the Manzini region. He began his educational walk in 1987 at St Michael’s primary school and completed his high school education at St Christopher’s High School in 1998. Thereafter, he enrolled at the University of Swaziland, for a Bachelor’s of Science degree and completed in
2003 with a B.Sc. in Computer Science.

Mbuso launched his career in ICT at the Ministry of Finance, as an IT specialist under a fiscal restructuring project in 2003 to 2005. He later joined The Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration Commission (CMAC) as an IT officer (2005 – 2009), where he successfully established the CMAC IT Department from scratch, developed IT policies that guided operations and support standards of the IT department. He also enrolled at the University of South Africa (UNISA) for a postgraduate certificate in applied project management in IT and in knowledge of management in 2008.

In 2009, he left CMAC to join The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) as an ICT Manager (2009 -2011). Whilst at ACC, he enrolled through distance learning for a few certificates; these were Conflict Communication and Negotiation Skills (Maccavlei Training Institute). Furthermore, whilst at ACC, Mbuso enrolled for his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) degree majoring in Project Management at the Management College of South Africa (MANCOSA) and graduated in 2011. Later in 2011, he left ACC and joined the Swaziland Water and Agricultural Development Enterprise (SWADE) as an IMS Manager in 2011-2013. He finally left the SWADE in 2013 to further his studies in Taipei, Taiwan. He studied for a Master of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT) and completed his studies in 2015. Whilst at NTUT, he worked as a research assistant and tutor. Upon returning to his home country, he shun the corporate world and began a life in academics.Mbuso joined the Royal Science and Technology Park (RSTP) under the academic wing as a Network Engineer/Security Lecturer. Because of his passion and excellence in teaching, he was promoted to be the Head of Academics in December 2017, a position he held until his demise. Mbuso was an achiever and a hard worker. He had several articles published in reputable journals in Asia and Africa. He was also a board member for the National Maize Cooperation (NMC).

Mbuso was a loving and caring family man. In 2011, he married his childhood sweetheart, Ntombenhle Vilakati, with whom he had four children; Sisekelo (late), Sibane, Wakhile and Nwabisa. He will be missed for his down to earth attitude, love and support to his entire family. We are all going to miss his jokes, love for taking pictures, smile, his cooking skills and food, advice, time he spent with his family and friends, storytelling and most importantly his passion of working hard for his kid. Tununu was a big dreamer and loved bragging about his life experiences. He had a knack of giving everyone a nickname especially the little ones, where he would name them and laugh at them. He is survived by his Wife, daughter, two sons, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.

Sitsi lala ngekuthula Hlubi Mlangeni. Bowuhlala usho kutsi “sengijake lelilanga lakhona ngiyo hlangana nebatali bami nemntfwanami Sisekelo” when there was discord in the family as you loved peace. The most hurting part is we never got enough time to spend with you and never got the chance to say goodbye.

As they always say till we meet again …. Goodnight Nkhosi, we will see you in the morning. You played a big role in our lives; it is time for you to rest. We will always cherish and remember the memories we shared with you. In our hearts you will forever be

“It is not Goodbye but till we meet again”

Fare the well my friend

Words cannot explain the sadness and heavy heart i have as I pen this.

I recall vividly when I met you my guy, at Taiwanese Embassy at Eswatini we had come to sign on dotted lines that we shall be taking the challenge to pursue our studies in Taiwan.

For me not an easy decision at all as I was already from the field and coming from private sector i had to choose to resign or go back to work.

When I met your bubbly self u gave me a very short lecture about yourself and situation. Your decision making was similar but tougher than mine. After our discussion i saw a leader and a die hard in you. The rest was history that I immediately signed and never looked back. How the story continued is worth a book!

Forever I will cherish your support, your guidance and advice, that was free and coming from the heart. You treated us as your younger brothers but remembered we were colleagues. Your inspirational stories are worth volumes of literature.

You became my lab mate and classmate in Taiwan, we sat side by side at the lab for 2 years. Your exceptional discipline and motivation was beyond comprehension. Our Robust discussions on data mining algorithms and concepts! Your coding skills, i remember we self taught ourselves R...

we socialized together as Eswatini, you always provided guidance as big brother, we ate together, we toured together, we got frustrated together but we remained Eswatini and One in Taipei. Our last trip to kenting beach taiwan Explosion

We had a lot of dreams for Eswatini, the business plans we wrote, consultative meetings with business gurus in Taipei, etc., we knocked doors,!procrastination and belief that we are still young, we still got time, was the thief.  Now that you are gone, a huge vacuum and void has been created, and never to be closed.

As I sit here I look at the volumes of pictures and memories we created! As your guys tourist photographer it’s intellectual property I will forever cherish

The late night WhatsApp chats and jokes will not be happening anymore, but am sure you will make a plan and hack the servers on other side ‍

Good night Nkhosi, thank you for the impact you had in me! It never required that I know you for years for you to leave such print of love and selflessness in my heart and mind...

See you in the morning Hlubi! Your spirit lives on in our hearts forever...Rest in Power IT Guru

RIP Hlubi
